Enable camera & location
Tap Enable camera & location on the home screen. Your browser will prompt for both — this is required so photos and videos can be GPS-stamped with your exact coordinates and reverse-geocoded address. Nothing is uploaded until you save.

Capture a photo or video
Choose Photo or Video, then hit capture. Live GPS coordinates, the address, timestamp — and optionally the StreetAudit logo, your profile photo, and
streetauditindia.online— are burned directly onto the frame so the evidence stays proof-of-place even when re-shared.💡 Use the toggles under Stamp on media to control which overlays appear.

AI generates a structured audit
A civic-trained AI auditor analyses the scene and returns a summary, an overall severity, a list of detected issues (potholes, footpath, encroachments, traffic, cyclist & pedestrian hazards), recommended actions, and the X (Twitter) handles of the local authorities responsible for the location.

Review & edit before you finalise
Hit Edit on the Summary card to correct any wrong text, change severity, or rewrite / remove individual issues. Your edits flow through to every downstream action — Save, Share, Post to X, and the public link.
💡 Editing locks once the audit is saved so your public record stays consistent.

Save the audit & earn points
Sign in (email or Google) and hit Save +pts. The report is stored with its location, categories, image and metadata. Points are awarded automatically and your badge tier upgrades in the background — a celebration dialog pops up when you unlock a new one.

Share, copy public link, or download
Use Share for the native OS share sheet, Download to save the stamped media, or Copy public link to get a shareable URL like
/r/<id>— anyone can open it (no login required) to see the full report. - 7
Post to X with the right authorities tagged
Post to X opens a composer with your summary, GPS link and AI-suggested handles pre-filled, trimmed to Twitter's 280-character limit. Each successful post is logged to your dashboard and earns bonus points.

Public report page with QR code
Every saved audit gets its own public page showing the stamped image, AI summary, issues, tagged authorities, address and a Google Maps link. A QR code on the page lets bystanders — or officials on site — scan and open the report instantly.

Open the map to see every citizen audit pinned across India. Click a pin to preview the report and jump to its full public page.

Climb the leaderboard
Points from audits and X posts move you up the public leaderboard. Each tier unlocks a new badge — from Rookie Reporter all the way to Diamond Civic Champion.
Add StreetAudit to your home screen for one-tap capture, offline shell, and a native-feeling camera. Look for the install prompt or use your browser's “Add to Home Screen” menu.
Only location, media, and the AI report are stored — never raw device data. Read our Privacy, Terms and Data safety notes.
Media you download and share externally already carries the GPS, timestamp, logo / profile / URL overlays you chose — the evidence stays complete wherever it travels.
